Respawn pushed a focused balance patch for Apex Legends — no new modes or content, just two changes, but both hit the current defensive and support meta. The tweaks are already live on the servers.
What changed
AXLE — Nitro Gate
- Max in-world count: 3 → 2
- HP: 150 → 100
Axle’s zoning tool is noticeably weaker: fewer gates at once and each one easier to break. Locking down territory with Nitro Gate is no longer as absolute.
CONDUIT — Radiant Transfer
- Shield regen rate: 15 → 10 per second
- Regen duration: 6 → 8 seconds
- Total ally regen: 90 → 80
- Total self-regen: 60 → 56
- Instant Barrier regen duration: 4 → 6 seconds
Conduit stops being the “immortal” support: peak shield-recovery speed is down, even though the regen is stretched over more time. At range the protection is the same, but in short trades Conduit no longer carries the team as reliably.
What it means for the meta
Both changes push the meta away from “unbreakable defense” toward more aggressive trades. Conduit teams that relied on fast shield regen in close fights are now more vulnerable in the opening seconds. Axle locks down zones less, so rotations open up.
What this means for software users
Good news: this is a pure balance patch — only ability numbers change. It does not touch map geometry, the EAC anti-cheat or the netcode. That means:
- ESP/radar overlays and aim assist are safe — model and coordinate bindings haven’t shifted, so box rendering stays accurate.
- Nothing to reinstall or wait on, unlike patches that rework maps or anti-cheat.
