Deadside Update 1.12 is rolling out on October 23 with no wipe, so existing character progress will remain intact. The download is still mandatory, and servers may be temporarily unavailable during deployment. Beyond the Halloween event, the patch changes weather rendering, vehicle behavior, several loot sources, and part of the map.
A mandatory update without a wipe
The lack of a wipe only covers player progress. Version 1.12 requires an updated game client, while the Modkit is being rebuilt alongside it. The developers have asked mod creators to test their work again after deployment rather than assume compatibility.
That warning is specifically about mods, not third-party game software, and the announcement does not mention an anti-cheat revision. Even so, it confirms that client-side files and supporting tools are changing. Anything that depends on a particular executable build, memory layout, or game data should therefore be revalidated.
Halloween content and a less predictable sky
Deadside now has dynamic cloud coverage with shadows cast across the world. Conditions can move between clear, cloudy, and overcast, although the announcement does not add rain or other forms of precipitation.
The seasonal event spreads new objects across several types of locations:
- pumpkins can be found in gardens, fields, and greenhouses;
- cemeteries contain tombstones, statues, candles, and skeleton parts;
- mysterious altars provide recipes for pumpkin and skull lanterns;
- a complete skeleton can be assembled and used as a mannequin.
Returning content includes Halloween helmets worn by AI and weapons with seasonal skins. Those skins also have a high chance of appearing in containers around the world.
Vehicles, grenades, and blueprint routes
Vehicle collisions have been improved, and cars can now push one another. Tires are more durable, players can choose a particular seat with Ctrl plus keys 1–4, and drivers can use the fire input to sound the horn.
The patch also increases grenade throwing range. Blueprint folders will appear more often at military and industrial points of interest, while traders receive two cases containing random weapon blueprints. These adjustments may shift farming routes toward already contested areas and require players to relearn familiar grenade distances.
On the map side, the perimeter of the Pyramid complex has been expanded. Kamensk received visual corrections and general environment improvements, but the announcement does not describe a broader redesign there.
What this means for players using software
Treat 1.12 as a compatibility break until your provider confirms otherwise. A mandatory client build can invalidate signatures, offsets, or addresses even when no anti-cheat update is announced. Check the software update status page before launching an older build; waiting for a verified status matters more than following an arbitrary 24-hour delay.
Loot ESP filters may not immediately recognize the new pumpkins, cemetery props, lantern materials, or skeleton parts. Dynamic clouds and shadows can also reduce the readability of existing ESP colors, so visual settings may need another pass in clear and overcast conditions. Users of tools with static map data should verify the Pyramid area because its expanded perimeter may no longer match an older overlay.
Nothing in the published notes creates a specific reason to add or replace an HWID spoofer: the developer did not announce an anti-cheat change. The Deadside software catalog can be used to review game-specific options, but only the current status of an individual build should be treated as confirmation that it supports version 1.12.
