Once Human is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S on August 25, 2026, at 11:00 PT. More importantly for existing players, the console release will join the PC and mobile ecosystem through full cross-platform play. Friends will be able to form teams and play together without having to use the same device family.
One account across multiple platforms
Existing PC and mobile players can link a console profile to their current game account before launch. Once connected, that account and its progress can be used on console instead of forcing the player to start over. Linking is also available from the account section inside the existing client.
New players are not required to connect a NetEase or third-party account, although the developer recommends doing so for easier switching between PC, mobile, and console. This is more than a convenience feature: anyone choosing to reuse an established profile will be playing under the same linked game identity rather than a separate console-only account.
The cross-play system will also support cross-platform friends and parties. The announcement does not describe console users as a separate matchmaking population or present the release as a reduced edition of the game.
Launch regions, downloads, and subscriptions
The console edition will launch in North America, South America, Europe, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. Its supported languages include English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
Players should plan for a sizeable installation:
- the PlayStation client is approximately 80 GB;
- the Xbox download is approximately 100 GB;
- partial downloads are supported;
- preloading is scheduled to open 48 hours before release;
- on PlayStation, preload access is limited to players who bought the preorder bundle.
Neither PlayStation Plus nor Xbox Game Pass Core is required because Once Human remains free to play. Members of those services can receive additional platform cosmetics, but the subscriptions are not an entry requirement.
The same survival game, not a paid console edition
Console players will have access to the game’s familiar mix of open-world exploration, base building, Deviations, dungeons, events, and selectable PvE or PvP scenarios. The monetization model covers cosmetics, the Battle Pass, and other purchases that the developer says do not affect gameplay fairness.
That makes this a platform expansion rather than a new premium edition. For current players, the practical change is a larger connected audience and the option to continue an existing account on another device.
What this means for players using software
The FAQ does not announce an anti-cheat revision, a new PC build, or changes to the protection layer. A console launch alone is therefore not evidence that offsets have changed, and it is not a reason by itself to add an HWID spoofer. The relevant trigger is whether the PC client receives a new build while cross-play is being enabled.
If an update is delivered around launch, treat it as a normal compatibility boundary. A loader or ESP built for the previous executable may need revisions even when the visible patch is mainly about platform support. Check the software update status before starting a session, and wait for compatibility confirmation if the current build has not been reviewed.
Cross-play also does not make Windows software usable on PlayStation or Xbox. Verify the stated platform before considering anything from the Once Human software catalog. Finally, remember that a linked console profile continues the original account: switching hardware should not be treated as creating an isolated identity with separate progress or account history.
